So I'm retaking a required class about Ethical/Legal Concerns. The problem is the textbook is so long and boring. It is talking about my reactions and other people's reactions and serving people and what is considered right and wrong in the "profession".

But it's SO boring and very wordy. I don't think I'd say "difficult" but more "devils in the details". The book is basically saying "this is 'right' and this is 'wrong'" and wow. I get tired of reading after a couple paragraphs. It's just so long, tedious, and ultimately boring. I'm surprised I even managed to read for 2 hours...although not very effective considering I can't even remember most of what I read.

I tried taking some notes but at the rate I am going at I'll have 100 pages and it would be a waste of time/energy.

How can I "read" the book or even get interested in it? Any advice?

So I've been listening to Katy Perry for about 2 weeks now. 11 days to be exact. I wondered what her style is. According to google she does what is called as "camp" music. From what I read it sounds like it's a form of irony/satire. However when I looked up a definition of it seems so...general to me?

My main point is what the hell is camp music? What constitutes it? What is it's sound? And I mean from multiple artists' perspectives-not just Katy Perry. I want to listen to the genre more. Any suggestions for artists to listen to?

A random Native American song from childhood popped up in my head. Unfortunately I don't remember the title. I THINK it was by the Learning Company? It definitely came from an educational CD...

I remember the chorus having the lyrics "Shí Naashá" although it sounded like a lullaby.

Was it Huckleberry Finn in the lyrics? The second line of the chorus was "(Someone) hiding away in the bush bush bush"...

Then the 'Shi Naashá" part came.

Does anyone have an idea? Since this was in my childhood I'm pretty sure it had to be released in the early 2000s or 90s at latest.

I haven't made anything creative in years. I mean the last "creative" thing I achieved was asking what alien hominid's eyeballs taste like. But honestly even that isn't creative. I ask this for multiple reasons. The main one is because there is a writing prompt in my art class that asks me what I would create for graffiti and I legitimately have no idea. I just can't imagine anything anymore and I noticed this before but never had to deal with it until now when I actually have to create something.

How do you get more creative?

And I mean excluding internet games where you obviously pay for WiFi. Like if you were to buy a game on steam or something. Do you just not buy it at all? Do you stick with the games you already have that are free? Because I', on the fence about it but am leaning more towards no since I want to save up my money for things I may actually need in the future. Perhaps I should keep searching for a job because now the only means for salary I have is doing some chores for $5-$20 weekly.

I dunno. Just food for thought. Opinions?

Thankfully this year my family DIDN'T all come down with sickness (last Christmas they all got COVID). I went to my Auntie's place on Christmas Eve. We ate lots of Chinese food my uncle cooked and stuff. There was a lot of family. For some reason we stayed until midnight. I got money and a portable DVD player for my laptop since modern day laptops don't have the CD drive anymore. At least the ones I get.

So how was your Christmas/Christmas Eve?

Fam we're watching the same video. Why do people feel the need to summarize it in the comments section? What's worse is when they turn that shit into English class. "The symbolism is strong because uh uh uh their recalling this event or that so it's a reference...","This story really showed how the character fits/doesn't fit into the world", "This character looks angry.".

^ No shit that's what the writers were going for. Anyone with even paid the minimum amount of attention to the video knows this. Movies, games, books, basically anyone who has passed 9th grade English would notice most if not all of the things they mentioned. Why is stating something blatantly obvious so important?

I usually don't but tried adding a pinch of salt this time just because. This was pre made ravioli btw. Other than tasting a bit more of the pasta and it being a bit dryer than if I didn't I didn't really see much of a difference. I did it before the water boiled btw.

What are your thoughts on adding salt to pasta water?

The title is self explanatory. Whether it be artists like Jackson 5, New Edition, Lobuzy,, Paramore, Eric B. and Rakim, Prince, Larry Graham, Donny Hathaway, or whoever else I would like to hear about them. I'm looking for "new" music to listen to. Whether it be artist or genre. Although I do find many and I mean MANY artists everyday. I would like an artist that stands out from the typical sound of the generation the albums/songs that were made at that time.

With artistry I notice people who are critical of it tend to at the very least look for something in the art that reflects the artist. Obviously music is subjective. But I'm looking for a new voice-perhaps from a new genre or even an artist who challenges the typical structure of said genre. Again: I want an artist that stands out from their peers.

Any suggestions? And tell me why you like the artist/song. What about them make you want to go back to listen to them?
